Privacy Policy

How Joopie handles the recordings, details, and preferences used by your private audio journal.

Scope of This Policy

This policy explains how Joopie handles information used by its local audio-journal experience. Joopie is designed for private reflection rather than public sharing. The policy applies to the information handled by the version of the app installed on your device.

Information You Create

When you use the app, you may create short audio recordings, captions, mood or weather selections, a display name, and postcard dates. You may also set visual preferences for the Sound Garden. These entries are the information the app needs to show, organize, replay, and personalize your postcards.

Microphone Permission

Joopie asks for microphone permission only when you choose to make a recording. You may decline or later change that permission in iOS settings. Declining permission does not prevent you from opening the app or using features that do not need a new recording.

How We Use Local Information

Your recordings and related postcard details are used on your device to save a postcard, display it in the shelf, play it back when you request playback, and remember the preferences you choose. The app does not use your private postcard content to operate a public feed or a developer-operated profile service.

Local Storage and Retention

Joopie stores its journal records and preferences locally on your device. They remain there until you remove an individual postcard or use the app's local-data deletion control. Removing the app may also remove locally stored app data, subject to your device and backup settings. The app does not provide a cloud archive or a developer-operated backup for these records.

Sharing and Platform Boundaries

Joopie does not run an account service, advertising service, analytics service, tracking service, or public sharing service for your postcard content. It does not send recordings, captions, moods, or Sound Garden preferences to a developer-operated server. iOS may apply its own device permissions and platform protections; those are governed by Apple and your device settings.

Your Choices

You decide whether to record, what caption or mood to save, and whether to delete a postcard. You can change microphone access through iOS settings. The Delete Account control in the app is a local-data control: it clears the app's locally stored postcards, preferences, and related records and returns the app to its initial state.

Security

Because the app keeps its journal data on your device, the security of that information also depends on the protections you choose for the device, such as a passcode and current system software. No storage method can guarantee absolute security. Please use care when recording material that could be sensitive to you or to someone else.

Children's Privacy

Joopie is not directed to children. If you believe that a child has provided information through the app in a way that requires attention, contact us so that we can consider the request in light of the app's local-only design.

Updates and Contact

We may update this policy when the app's information practices change. The current policy is available from the app. Questions about this policy may be sent to jochambers50@hotmail.com.
